The Ender 5 Pro is the pumped-up version of the stock Ender 5. Equipped with the same cubic frame, you get everything the classic Ender 5 has to offer, plus of useful upgrades.

For one thing, the Ender 5 Pro is equipped with a new V1.15 Silent Mainboard, with Marlin 1.1.8 and Bootloader installed, allowing for a quieter and more precise printing performance. Plus, thermal runaway protection is now enabled, providing additional protection in case the printer reaches critical temperatures.

On top, the Creality Ender 5 Pro features a highly durable, metal extruding unit, ensuring a stable feeding of filament. The printer is equipped with an adjustable bolt, so users can tweak the pressure of the extruder gear to best fit whichever filament is selected.

Another useful feature that goes hand in hand with the above mentioned new extruder is the upgraded filament tubing on the Ender 5 Pro. While the Ender 5 still had the stock plastic tubing, the Ender 5 Pro is now equipped with a Capricon Bowden PTFE Tubing. The tight diameter prevents any wiggling of filament and allows for jam-free feeding. The addition of this high-end tubing, plus the new feeding system, make the Creality Ender 5 Pro better suited to print with flexible filaments and other exotic materials. 


In a similar fashion to the large majority of Creality’s 3D Printers, this new design brings a few new features, while also catering to many of the minor faults or mistakes that were made on previous models.

So let’s explore some of the new key features of the Ender 5, what kinds of benefits these features offer, as well as why we think they are good additions to Creality’s Range of models:

  • Z-Bed Design – Whereas most of the popular 3D Printers in the hobbyist space use a “Z-Head Design”, in which the hotend assembly moves up for each layer while the Bed moves along the Y-axis, the Ender 5 carries features a “Z-Bed Design”, in which the Bed is moved along the Z-axis as the layers change, while the hotend assembly moves along the X and Y axes instead. This results in smoother layer changes and less banding or wobble regardless of the height of the print, with more accuracy along the Y axes due to the fact that the Y-axis doesn’t have to move a heavy heated bed (with a lot of inertia) forwards and backwards.
  • High Precision Belt System – While some brands are still trying to get the H-Bot design to work consistently, and others are employing complex (and expensive) CoreXY designs, Creality have taken notes from the low-weight builds, but have given this printer an extra twist. The Y-axis, instead of being at the bottom controlling the bed, now controls the forward and backwards motion of the overhead gantry, on which the hotend assembly is mounted. Then, for the X-axis, a motor has been mounted directly onto the gantry on the edge, which controls the hotend assembly X-axis motion left and right. These two systems offer an impressive level of precision control and printing accuracy, since they are designed with as little extra weight and inertia drag as possible.
  • Ultra-Rigid Structure – If there was any kind of downside to the Creality Ender 5, it would be that it takes up a lot space. However, this large chassis size is very necessary for the design, and is certainly worth the extra space it takes up, since the rigid box shape offers the maximum stability and vastly reduced wobble compared to the single Z-axis cross-frame that other models feature. Additionally, despite the greatly increased amount of aluminium extrusion used for the frame, the cost has not been impacted in the same way, and Creality 3D have managed to produce this fine quality machine for much less than what we would have expected.



The Ender 5 Pro costs more than the Ender 5, which we find a rather fair increase for the notable upgrades.

Having them, pre-installed saves you the hassle of retrofitting, if you maybe already plan on getting some of these upgrades anyway to get your printer to achieve the best possible printing results.
