The soil moisture sensor is a device designed to detect the moisture level in soil, allowing for timely monitoring of soil conditions to support healthier plant growth.

The sensor operates by inserting two probes into the soil. As an electrical current flows between them, the sensor measures changes in resistance caused by the soil's moisture content. Moist soil conducts electricity better due to lower resistance, while dry soil has higher resistance. Based on this principle, the sensor translates resistance values into moisture readings: when the soil is dry, the analog output value decreases; when the soil is moist, the output increases.
