The Grove - OLED Display 0.96" (SSD1315) is a monochrome (white) 128×64 pixel passive display matrix module featuring a Grove I2C interface. This new 0.96" OLED display is an upgraded version of the previous Grove - OLED Display 0.96", which used the SSD1308 chip. It retains the advantages of the earlier model, including high contrast, high brightness, low power consumption, and a wide viewing angle.
Thanks to the new SSD1315 chip, the display now operates at 3.3V, eliminating the need for an expensive DC-DC boost circuit. Additionally, the onboard level shift circuit allows it to work seamlessly with both 3.3V and 5V platforms. This means you can easily use it with an Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other development boards.
For software compatibility, the Grove - OLED Display supports the U8g2 monochrome display library by Olikraus. This highly versatile and well-supported library is compatible not only with the SSD1315 but also with SSD1306 and other similar display chips. Get started quickly with the U8g2 library and explore the potential of this compact yet powerful screen!
Note: If you are using an ATmega328-based board, such as the Seeeduino V4.2 or Arduino UNO, you must switch to Software I2C when using the U8g2 library. However, this step is not required for SAMD-based development boards.
